Graduation Day 2: The Graduation Day ceremony for the courses BA Journalism, BA Tourism, Bachelors of Computer Application, Life Sciences, B.Sc Nur s ing and Ba che lor s ofPhysiotherapy was held on Saturday, February 25, 2012. The Chief Guests for the day were Prof. Chengappa P.G and Dr. Deshpande V. Rajkumar. The Sapling Planting by the Guests of Honor gave a wonderful start to the event. The theme color for the day was pink. A WelcomeAddress by the Principal, Prof N. Bharathi, marked the beginning of the program at the Convocation hall. It was followed by a speech by Prof. Jose Verghese, Advisor, Garden City Group of Institutions. The guests were felicitated by the Chairman, His Excellency, Dr. Joseph V.G. The Convocation was then declared open by the Guests of Honor and they conferred the certificates to the students. After that the Oath taking ceremony by the Graduating students filled the entire auditorium and the parents with pride. The Chief Guests delivered their speeches. Dr. Deshpande’s talk being very youth friendly, was greatly enjoyed by the audience. This melodious and one of the most special evenings forGardenians ended with a Presidential address by the Chairman and the Vote of thanks. A special theme dinner was organized for the students and their parents, which added to the celebration of their success.
GCC 17th February 2012: The Nepali Day was celebrated in GCC. The audience comprised of 16colleges and all were acknowledged about the greatness of their Motherland. The program started with the lighting of the lamp by Mr. Alok Koirala, Chief Guest of the fest accompanied by our Beloved Chairman Dr. Joseph V.G. This was followed by the National Anthem of Nepal.
GCC, 15th February 2012 – GCC’s NSS Unit has scheduled a 7 day annual camp in Kithaganuru, where the volunteers will indulge in various service activities. Scheduled from 15th – 21stFebruary, 55 NSS volunteers will be divided into several groups in charge of – food, refreshment, sport, and first-aid and medical camp and chaos control.
Garden City College of Nursing organised the traditional lamp lighting ceremony and the Nursing Excellence award. The lamp lighting ceremony was for the fresher’s. The chief guest for the event was Dr. Paul C Salins. The candle lighting ceremony is a momentous occasion of a student’s life and signifies the acceptance of the noble charge of profession.
The Nursing Excellence award was rewarded to five inspirational nursing administrators chosen by the experts for their compassionate care and dedicated service. (more…)
Garden City College had organized Cream Awards, to award the Final Year students of all courses. These awards were given on the basis of their dedicated performance during the entire graduation period. The function began with the welcoming of the Chief Guest, who were prominent personalities, well experienced in their respective fields. The chief guests were from different fields like hospitality, social work, military, business, etc. They were accompanied by our beloved Chairman, his Excellency Dr. Joseph V.G, Prof. Jose Verghese, Advisor- GCC and Prof N.Bharthi , Principal-GCC.
ENGCONF-2012 on‘Recent trends in literature – a global perspective’ organized by the department of Languages was held at Garden City College on 27 and 28 of January, 2012. Under the able guidance and unwavering support of our beloved Chairman the conference observed many scholars from across the globe. The conference was planned and organized by the department of Languages and the effort takenby all faculty members of the department of Languages made ‘ENGCONF-2012’ a success which was praised by all delegates and scholars.
