The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways had announced the Road Safety Week from 11th January 2016 throughout the country to create awareness among general public to improve the safety on road and to give an opportunity to all stakeholders to contribute to the cause of road safety. On this account, the Department of Hotel Management had conducted “Road Safety” activity as part of the ‘Learn, Think & Do Different’ approach. The activity was held on 18th January 2016 from 3:30- 4:30 pm at GCC- auditorium. The topic of the activity was “Road Safety Awareness”. The activity comprised of display of videos on road accidents, short skit on selected road safety themes which included topics like consequence of Drunk & Drive, Mobile Phone usage while driving, over speeding, pedestrian crossing, traffic signal & violation and helmet, followed by Road Safety Pledge by the faculty members & students. Also, there was a box kept in the time office for Road Safety Slogan contest. Students & faculty members had written a slogan and dropped in the box. The best slogan was suitably recognized. The programme was well designed to ensure importance of Road safety was cultivated in everyone at GCC family.
